Sudh Mahadev is an ancient and highly revered Shiva temple located near the town of Chenani, a short drive from Patnitop. The temple is believed to be over 2,800 years old and holds immense significance for followers of Shaivism. The main structure is built from stone in a style typical of the region's architecture. Inside the sanctum sanctorum, visitors will find a natural black marble Shiva Lingam. A key attraction within the complex is a massive iron trident, or Trishul, which is believed to belong to Lord Shiva himself. The trident has inscriptions in an ancient script that are yet to be fully deciphered.

The nearest airport is Jammu Airport (IXJ), located about 120 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Patnitop or Chenani, which takes around 3-4 hours.

The nearest major railway station is Udhampur (UHP), approximately 45 km away. Another major railhead is Jammu Tawi (JAT), about 115 km away. Taxis and buses are available from both stations.
Road
Sudh Mahadev is well-connected by road via National Highway 44. It is about 8 km from Chenani town. Regular buses and taxis ply from Jammu, Udhampur, and Patnitop to Chenani.
Local Transport
From Patnitop, the most common way to reach is by hiring a private taxi, which takes about an hour. Shared cabs and local buses are available from Chenani town to the temple.
