Best Time to Visit

The Brew Estate is a year-round destination. Visit between March and June for pleasant summer weather, ideal for enjoying the rooftop seating. The peak tourist seasons (May-June and December-January) are the busiest. For a lively experience with music and crowds, evenings from 8 PM onwards are best. For a quieter meal with clear views, weekday afternoons between 1 PM and 4 PM are recommended. Avoid monsoon months (July-August) if you dislike rain, though the indoor seating remains a good option.
Peak Crowd: May-June and December-January, especially on weekend evenings and public holidays, due to peak tourist season.
Moderate Crowd: March-April and October-November on both weekdays and weekends. Weekday evenings during tourist season.

How to Reach

Air

Shimla Airport (SLV) in Jubbarhatti is about 22 km away (1-hour drive). However, Chandigarh International Airport (IXC) is the more reliable and better-connected option, located 115 km away (3-4 hour drive by taxi).

Train

The historic Kalka-Shimla toy train ends at Shimla Railway Station, about 2.5 km from The Ridge. The nearest major broad-gauge railway station is in Kalka, 90 km away, with good connectivity to Delhi and other cities.

Road

Shimla is well-connected by National Highway 5. Regular government and private buses operate from Delhi (350 km, 8-9 hours), Chandigarh (115 km, 3-4 hours), and other major towns in North India to the ISBT at Tutikandi.

Local Transport

From the ISBT or railway station, hire a local taxi to the HPTDC lift on Cart Road. The lift takes you to Mall Road, from where The Brew Estate is a short, pleasant walk. The Ridge and Mall Road are pedestrian-only zones.
