Overview

The Travancore Heritage is a seaside resort situated on a high cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea, a few kilometers south of Kovalam's main beaches. The property is designed to replicate a traditional Keralan village, with its architecture being the main highlight. Many of the wooden houses on the premises are authentic, centuries-old structures that were dismantled from their original locations and reassembled here. This gives the resort a unique, historical feel combined with modern comforts.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to stay is from October to March, when the weather is dry and pleasant with comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for relaxing by the sea. The monsoon season, from June to September, is less crowded and is traditionally considered the best time for Ayurvedic treatments due to the cool, moist climate. April and May are the hottest and most humid months and are best avoided if you are sensitive to heat.
Peak Crowd: December-January, during Christmas, New Year holidays and peak tourist season.
Moderate Crowd: October-November and February-March, offering good weather with fewer holiday crowds.
Low Crowd: April-September, covering the hot summer and heavy monsoon seasons, though it is popular for Ayurveda during this time.

How to Reach

Air

Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) is the nearest airport, approximately 20 km away. The journey by taxi takes about 45-60 minutes.

Train

Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station (TVC) is the closest major railway station, located about 20 km from the resort. It is well-connected to all major cities in India. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available for hire from the station.

Road

The resort is located just off the main road connecting Kovalam and Poovar. It is easily accessible by car from Thiruvananthapuram city. Regular state-run and private buses connect Thiruvananthapuram with Kovalam.

Local Transport

Auto-rickshaws and taxis, including app-based services like Uber and Ola, are the most convenient options for local travel. You can hire them for point-to-point travel or for a full day of sightseeing.
