Explore one of India's oldest zoos, home to a diverse collection of animals, birds, and reptiles set within a lush botanical garden in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, one of the oldest in India, is spread across 36 acres of woodland and gardens right in the heart of the city. It's part of a larger complex that also includes the Napier Museum and the Sree Chitra Art Gallery. The zoo is designed more like a botanical garden with winding paths, large trees, and well-kept enclosures. Visitors can see a wide variety of animals, from Indian species like the Lion-tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Langur, Indian Rhino, and Royal Bengal Tiger to exotic animals such as giraffes, zebras, and Cape buffaloes.
