Located on a small island in the middle of Lake Fatehsagar, the Udaipur Solar Observatory is a unique scientific institution. It's considered one of the best sites in Asia for solar observation due to the surrounding water, which reduces air turbulence and improves image clarity. The observatory is managed by the Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad and is an active center for research in solar physics.

Visitors will need to pay for the boat ride on Lake Fatehsagar, which costs approximately ₹30 to ₹400 per person depending on the type of boat (motor vs. speed boat).
