Best Time to Visit

The white water rafting season in Goa is strictly limited to the monsoon months, typically from late June to early October. This is the only time the Mhadei River has adequate water levels and flow to create exciting rapids. The best experience is usually from mid-July to the end of August when the monsoon is at its peak, ensuring powerful and consistent river conditions. The activity is completely shut down for the rest of the year.
Peak Crowd: July-August, particularly on weekends and public holidays, as this is the prime monsoon period.
Moderate Crowd: Late June, September, and weekdays in July-August.
Low Crowd: Not applicable, as the activity only runs during its peak seasonal window.

How to Reach

Air

Goa has two airports. Dabolim Airport (GOI) is about 35 km from Panjim (a common meeting point). Manohar International Airport at Mopa (GOX) is about 40 km from Panjim. Taxis are available from both airports.

Train

Thivim (THVM) is the nearest major railway station to North Goa meeting points, around 25 km from Panjim. Madgaon (MAO) and Vasco da Gama (VSG) are other key stations, better connected to South Goa.

Road

Goa is well-connected by National Highways like NH-66. The rafting location is in the remote Sattari region. It is best to reach a central meeting point in a major town like Panjim, from where the operator's transport is provided.

Local Transport

To reach the trip meeting points, rented scooters (₹300-500/day) or cars are widely available. Taxis and app-based cab services are also an option. Local buses connect major towns but are not ideal for this activity due to fixed reporting times.
