A 17th-century British watchtower located in a fishing village, offering fantastic views of the Arabian Sea and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Worli Fort is a small, historic fort situated at the edge of the Worli Koliwada, a traditional fishing village. Built by the British in the 17th century, it was originally an observation post to monitor ships in Mahim Bay. The experience of visiting begins with a walk through the narrow, winding lanes of the village, offering a glimpse into the life of the local Koli community. The fort itself is a simple stone structure, not very large, with a main bastion, a small well, and ramparts you can walk on. The primary attraction for most visitors today is the commanding view from the top. You get an unobstructed panorama of the Arabian Sea and a unique perspective of the modern Bandra-Worli Sea Link arching across the water. The atmosphere is generally quiet and far removed from the city's usual noise. It's less of a grand fortress and more of a peaceful spot to watch the sea, observe fishing boats, and see the contrast between old and new Mumbai.
