Best Season:The best time to travel through Zoji La is from June to September. During these months, the pass is reliably open, the weather is most stable, and the road conditions are at their best after snow clearance. July and August offer clear skies, but it's also the peak tourist season. September provides a quieter experience with beautiful post-monsoon landscapes. Travel in May or October is possible but carries a higher risk of sudden closure due to early or late snowfall.

The pass is generally open for traffic from late May to November. Traffic flow is often regulated by local police, sometimes in a one-way convoy system, especially during peak hours. There is no entry fee to cross Zoji La as it is a public pass on a national highway. Costs are associated with vehicle rental or taxi fares.
