Look, we have to start with the obvious. When you look up places to visit in Mysore, the Mysore Palace is going to be literally the first thing that pops up on your screen. And for good reason.
I usually hate super touristy spots. But this palace? It's genuinely incredible. You pay your 100 rupees for the entry ticket. Take off your shoes (they have a whole system for this, don't worry). Walk in. The inside is just wild. We are talking massive halls painted in crazy bright colors, huge pillars, and ceilings that look like they took a hundred years to carve.
But here is the real secret. Do not just go during the day. You have to see it on a Sunday evening or during a public holiday. Why? Because between 7:00 PM and 7:45 PM, they turn on roughly 100,000 light bulbs that outline the entire structure. It literally glows in the dark. It is totally packed with people taking selfies. But it's 100% worth the shoulder-bumping.
