Calangute Beach, often called the 'Queen of Beaches', is the largest and one of the most frequented beaches in North Goa. It stretches for several kilometers, forming a continuous sandy coastline with its neighbors, Baga to the north and Candolim to the south. The beach itself is a wide expanse of golden sand lined with a dense row of palm trees and an almost unbroken chain of beach shacks, restaurants, and clubs. The atmosphere here is energetic and always active, attracting a diverse crowd of domestic and international tourists.

The beach has 24/7 public access. Lifeguards are on duty from approximately 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Water sports operate from morning until sunset (around 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM), weather permitting. Most beach shacks open by 9:00 AM and close around 11:00 PM.
Entry to the beach is free for all. However, charges are applicable for parking, renting sunbeds, water sports, and any food or beverages purchased at the shacks.
