Cheruthoni Dam is a massive concrete gravity dam and a key component of the Idukki Hydroelectric Project, which also includes the famous Idukki Arch Dam and the Kulamavu Dam. Standing at 138 meters tall, it is the largest of the three and the third tallest dam in India. Visitors typically experience this dam as part of a tour that includes the Idukki Arch Dam, as they are located very close to each other, impounding the same reservoir.
