A historic temple in Hassan that opens its doors to devotees for only two weeks a year during Deepavali, famous for its year-long burning lamp.
The Hasanamba Temple is a unique Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Shakti, known here as Hasanamba. What makes this place truly distinct is that its doors open to the public only once a year for about two weeks during the Hindu festival of Deepavali. For the rest of the year, the sanctum remains sealed. The temple's architecture has elements of the Hoysala style, reflecting the region's rich history. Inside, the primary deity is not an idol but an anthill (Hutta) that represents the goddess.
