A sacred man-made water tank in Gokarna, revered for ritual dips and surrounded by numerous small shrines and lingams.
Koti Tirtha is a large, man-made water tank, considered one of the most sacred sites in Gokarna. The name translates to "Tank of a Crore Holy Springs," stemming from the belief that its water originates from a confluence of one crore (ten million) sacred springs. The tank is surrounded by stone steps, known as ghats, that lead down to the water. Visitors will see numerous small shrines and carved Shiva lingams installed along its periphery, left by devotees over centuries.
