An architectural marvel in Delhi, this Baháʼí House of Worship is famous for its lotus flower shape and welcomes people of all faiths for silent prayer.
The Lotus Temple, formally known as the Baháʼí House of Worship, is a modern architectural landmark in Delhi. Its design is inspired by a lotus flower, featuring 27 freestanding marble-clad 'petals' arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides. This design is not just visually striking but also symbolic, representing purity and the unity of religions. Surrounding the main structure are nine pools of water, which help ventilate the building and enhance its appearance, making it seem as if the flower is floating.
