The final base camp for the Amarnath Yatra, a high-altitude meadow where five streams converge, located 6 km from the holy cave.
Panchtarni is a high-altitude meadow that serves as the final and most crucial base camp on the traditional trekking route to the Amarnath Cave. Situated at an elevation of about 3,500 meters, its name translates to "five streams," which refers to the five small rivers that flow through this valley, originating from the surrounding glaciers. For pilgrims undertaking the challenging journey, Panchtarni is a vital stop for acclimatization and rest before the final 6-kilometer ascent to the holy cave.
