A 14th-century weir with seven arches, built during the Tughlaq dynasty to manage water and defend Delhi's Jahanpanah city.
Satpula, which translates to "seven bridges," is a remarkable 14th-century weir located in South Delhi. Built during the reign of Sultan Muhammad bin Tughlaq, it was a crucial part of the water supply system for his capital city, Jahanpanah. The structure served a dual purpose: it acted as a dam to create a large reservoir for irrigation and daily use, and its fortified walls also functioned as a line of defense for the city.
