The origin of the sacred River Kaveri in the Brahmagiri hills, featuring a temple, a holy tank (Kundike), and panoramic mountain viewpoints.
Talakaveri is widely known as the source of the River Kaveri, located on the slopes of the Brahmagiri hills in Coorg. This place is not just a river's origin but a significant pilgrimage center. Visitors first encounter a large tank, the 'Kundike', where the river is believed to emerge as a spring. A dip in this holy water is considered auspicious. Adjacent to the tank are two temples, one dedicated to Lord Agastyeshwara and the other to Lord Ganapathi. The atmosphere is generally calm and spiritual, filled with the sounds of temple bells and chants, especially during festivals.
