Kavaratti Beach features white coral sands, shallow lagoons for swimming, professional water sports centers, and eco-friendly island resorts in Lakshadweep.
Discover what makes this destination truly special

Kavaratti Beach sits on the western side of Kavaratti Island, the administrative capital of Lakshadweep. The beach features a long stretch of white coral sand bordering a shallow, calm lagoon. Visitors can walk directly into the clear water, which remains waist-deep for a considerable distance, making it highly suitable for swimming and wading. The seabed is covered with live corals and diverse marine life, clearly visible through the transparent water. Water sports centers along the beach provide equipment and training for scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling, and windsurfing. Glass-bottom boats operate regularly from the shore, allowing non-swimmers to observe the underwater ecosystem without getting wet. The beach area is home to the Kavaratti Island Beach Resort and the Paradise Island Huts, which provide direct sea access and essential tourist amenities. Near the southern end of the beach, visitors will find the Marine Aquarium displaying local sea species. The entire environment is heavily regulated to protect the fragile coral reef system, resulting in exceptionally clean surroundings and clear waters. Kavaratti is one of the most accessible islands in the Lakshadweep archipelago, making it a good starting point for first-time visitors. If you're planning the trip, search flights to Agatti and browse hotels and stays early, since island accommodation is limited.
