So, how to reach Topslip? Most people start their trip from Coimbatore or the nearby town of Pollachi. The Topslip distance from Pollachi is just about 35 kilometers. You can easily drive it in an hour. The road is well maintained for the most part.
But keep in mind, you have to cross the Sethumadai check post at the absolute bottom of the hill. They stop every single vehicle here. They'll check your car for:

- Alcohol
Don't even try sneaking that stuff in. They are strict, which is a really good thing for the animals.
You pay a small entry fee at the check post — usually around 50 rupees per head and a bit more for your car. From there, it's a steep, winding drive up the mountain. Keep your eyes on the road, but also look into the trees. It's super common to see wild boars, spotted deer, and sometimes even a leopard crossing if you drive up early in the morning.
If you are planning a trip to Topslip, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, I highly recommend having your own car or a hired taxi. Government buses do exist, but they only run a few times a day. Miss one, and you're waiting hours at a dusty bus stop.
